How long does it take to complete the process? |
| The average claim can be completed within 1 hour. |
| How long will it take for me to get any monies owed from the insurance carrier? |
| That will depend on your carrier, however, by law they have to respond to you within the time period defined in your policy (usually between 30 – 90 days) once you have submitted the Sworn Proof of Loss form. |
What if I have already received money from the insurance company on the claim? Will I still be able to use MySmartClaims service? |
| Absolutely! If you are able to demonstrate that they owe you additional monies, by law, the Good Faith Claim Settlement Act states they must pay you. |
| How do I demonstrate that the insurance company owes me more money on my claim? |
That’s where MySmartClaims comes in. Once you have answered the program's questions, you will receive an estimate of damage. This report along with the Sworn Proof of Loss substantiates your position and gives the insurance company the information they need for them to substantiate giving you more money.
| What will the insurance company do after receiving my MySmartClaims estimated loss? |
| The insurance company has 3 options: |
1. Agree with the report and pay the difference, or
2. Disagree with the MySmartClaims total and negotiate a new amount. Somewhere in-between what they originally settled with you and the new estimated loss calculated by MySmartClaims, or
3. Deny the amount on the MySmartClaims loss estimate
| What happens if the MySmartClaims loss estimate is denied? |
For the most part, the insurance company has already admitted liability in sending you their estimate of damage. If it was in their mind to deny the claim they would have denied it before sending you an estimate and admitting liability. The best that they can do is dispute the amount. In other words, settling it for something less than you are demanding and something more than they have offered – You win! |
Why is there such a large difference between what the insurance carrier offers to settle the claim and the loss estimated by MySmartClaims?
For two simple reasons: |
• Knowledge is power and most people do not know any better; and
• Insurance companies are in business to make money, the more they pay out in losses, the less money they make |
| |
| My insurance adjuster responded quickly, was very nice and got me a settlement right away. Why should I revisit this issue? |
| |
Adjusters are trained to be pleasant and friendly with customers. They are also trained to mitigate the loss to the insurance company. They are paid by the insurance company, and as such are not looking out for your interest. When they leave, you may be satisfied with their work, that is, until you realize how much money you failed to recover. MySmartClaims works for you and wants to help you get all of the money that you are entitled to repair the damage according to your policy. And MySmartClaims is not concerned with the absolute value you recover, it simply follows basic rules and algorithms to ensure that the carrier did not inadvertently leave out or forget to include something in their estimate. MySmartClaims is in essence an audit of the carrier’s estimate. Why not be completely satisfied that you did everything you could to ensure you received a proper settlement. We are precluded from communicating with or negotiating on your behalf with any third party including your insurance company. |
